Happy Valentines Day!

When I was in grade school I loved Valentines Day. It was so fun to go shopping and pick out a box of valentine cards! It always took me forever to choose because I loved them all so much. We had a Valentine Tea, where we wore our prettiest dresses to school and were assigned a boy as our partner to pull out our chairs and sit at our table. The faculty had the lunch room and tables all decorated with hearts and streamers. We all learned and put into practice proper table manners. We were served a sugar cookie and punch. But, more than any other thing, I loved ,loved, loved, to make our valentine boxes! There were prizes given for the prettiest, most unique, ect. It was so fun to see what all my classmates came up with. After school my sibs and I would race home to find a box of those message heart candies on our pillow from dad. Then last, we got to valentine our friends in the neighborhood by leaving our cards and treats on the step then we would ring the doorbell and run and hide! Fun fun memories! Today Im making sugar cookies and cupcakes for my kids. They each get some clothes too. Bret and I have reservations for the two of us at Maddox at 9:00...yes 9:00....we were slow ...but we have a wedding reception over there at 7:00 so its ok. Sometimes holidays can be a pain in the neck to adults but the memories created from them are treasures! So, be sure and make some good memories today! Happy Valentines Day!
