Half A Century!

Wow...I turned 50 years old on the eighth! I cant believe it! Inside I feel like Im thirty and not a day older! I wont let aging get me down however...because I have a lot to look forward to this year! Im getting my first grandbabies, Nick comes home from his mission, and I guess I can add that Benny graduates...( that one is bittersweet), and we are hoping to build a new house this summer. ..Yay! For my big day, Ali and I shopped all afternoon, then we met up with the rest of our family and went to dinner at Cafe Sabor. We had a great time! I was spared the sombrero and clappy song because my family was forbidden. . they really do love me! Haha! This sweet bike is my wonderful birthday present. You cant really tell in the picture, but its pink, silver and white. Its so cute and sporty! I love it!!! Life is good at 50 so bring it on!

Nine Months

Nine months and my boy will be home! Here he is with his grandparents the night before he left for the MTC.Here he is with some friends in Morropon Peru. He is one happy missionary, and Im so proud of him!

Senior Ball

Benny and his friends went to the Senior Ball this weekend and they had a great time! The plan for their day date was to go sledding on this hill by our house..but it turned into a huge snowball fight first! It was a perfect day, with perfect snow for both!

Again...so soon?

Seriously...snow again...already! Thats how I feel...Im amazed how fast this year has gone...and now here we are again, freezing in the snow! I took these first two pictures this morning to send to my son who is in Peru on his mission. But, I have to admit it really is beautiful that miserable cold stuff!

Here are my good boys pushing the snow off of my mothers trampoline so they can put it up against the wall for her.

Pink and Blue!

Today we went to Accuscan at the Gateway Mall in SLC for Ambers ultrasound. Its official, the twins are a boy and a girl! We are thrilled! Afterwards, we went shopping for their first baby clothes! I had Bryce and Amber each pick an outfit for their babies for us to give them for Christmas. Bryce picked for the boy, and Amber the girl. They picked darling color coordinated outfits from Gymboree......soooo cute! We shopped a bit more, then went to dinner at Tucanos Brazilian Grill...YUM ..and then to a movie.....and then frozen yogurt ....then home..and missed the storm! What a great day! We all had a such a terrific time! Im so grateful for my family and absolutely adore them!

Update

This is an update on my twin grand babies. On Thursday the 11th I went with Amber and Bryce to watch her get ultra-sound #2. We were hoping sooooo badly that we would be able to see the gender of the babies...but unfortunately no such luck! The babies are exactly the same weight and length, which is really good! They are about 4 1/2 inches long. Baby 'B' is at the top and was moving all over and posing for us...but baby 'A' just laid on its tummy...wouldnt move a bit for us! I call baby 'B' Bryces baby boy, and baby 'A' Ambers baby girl. :) Haha... and Ambers baby was doing what she likes to do...nap...and Bryces baby was just like him..active and cant sit still! Kinda funny! The picture of Amber in black is Sunday November 7th. The white one is yesterday November 14th. Look at that cute baby bump!

Bryce just happened to get "catch" this on video! I think its hilarious! Looks like the fish won that one!

Hooked!

My son Bryce LOVES to fish and this photo below is my all time favorite! Yes, .... he hooked/caught himself! How does that even happen!? Hahahahaha!

This is a winning catch, ...a 29.36 inch channel cat!

Another gross catfish...

This is an online fishing tournament website that he is a member of. He won last weeks tourney with his channel cat in the small photo above. The second place fish was almost 7 inches shorter! He won $50.00 for first place..not alot, but still fun when you consider its against fishermen/fisherwomen/fisherpeople all over the world! :)

My Dot

Last week a gentleman contacted my daughter and asked if he could photograph her for a project he was doing. He does some really cool...Lady GaGa-ish stuff that I checked out on his website. I went with her to the shoot, and he looks nothing like I expected...Hes a sweet little average guy! Kind of bazaar to me that he wasn't all funky or extremely artsy looking ..or whatever.. that's what I expected from seeing his work, but anyway these are two samples he sent. I think they're awesome and cant wait to see the rest!

TWINS!!!

Bryce and Amber are having twins!!!! Fraternal twin grandbabies for me! Yay! Im sooo excited!

Dress up

Poor Helga... she doesnt like to play dress up! The other day I forwarded some family baby pictures from my cell phone to my daughter. Both of the baby girls were wearing headbands with flowers on them..... so ...I decided to be sickening and I took these pics of Helga and forwarded them to her saying, "look...our baby can wear headbands too!" Hahaha!

Last Wednesday, Bryce called and asked Bret and I if we wanted to ride up a bike trail he thought would be cool to try. We said, "sure, why not?" Wow, I knew, "why not" after about 20 feet up the first incline!!!! Ive never done anything like that before so it was quite a shocker! We actually rode to the top of Green Canyon! Nine miles round trip. It was hard, but way fun! Racing downhill is a blast! I still cant believe I didnt crash! We turned right around and went again the next day...and then rode up another mountain bike trail in Mt Sterling on Monday. I took this photo up Green Canyon. Its not the best picture, but we forgot our camera and I had to use my cell phone camera. We're not cyclists and this was quite a feat for us, so I had to have proof!

Ahh! My babys last homecoming dance! I cant believe it! They have their shirts and ties, their corsages and gelled up hair, and now its time to go get their girls!

100 Days!

YES ...its true! One hundred days from today is Christmas! Who even wants to think about that right?! Certainly not me! But this year, Brets family is coming from out of state, so...... we wont be tripping anywhere... :( Im so sad about that!.. However, Ive decided Im going to try and enjoy shopping...ugh...and start early so that maybe it wont be drudgery for me. ;) Im really not a grinch, its just that with my kids all grown up its a lot harder to find great gifts for them. Anyhow, I was looking online for gift ideas and came across this website for personalizing gifts, and I thought I would share. Its personalizationmall.com. Im going to order new Christmas stockings from there. I just have to decide which ones now! I think this one is cute..

I LOVE this fisherman's stocking! Notice, the top is a fisherman's hat! Ahh its the coolest! Im getting it for Bryce since he loves fishing so much! Now for Amber...I wonder if they make Halloween Christmas stockings! Haha...she is crazy about Halloween!

If I were to choose this style of stocking...I would definitely have to add some bling! Actually, it could be a fun Christmas project. Perhaps the bling would include adding sequins and beads.. or maybe glitter and/or ribbon here and there...etc.. Hmmm...decisions , decisions!

Halfway!! Hump Day!!

Nick is now officially half done with his mission in Peru. Im thrilled to finally be counting down instead of up! Yay!!! He is one happy youngin, and Im one proud mommacita!

Surprise!

Im going to be a grandma! WOO HOO!!!! Bryce and Amber brought us these photos they had taken and put the best one on the bottom of the stack. What a fun surprise that was! They have been wanting a baby for a long time. We are all so darned excited! :D

Timing is everything!
