Race Two
Yesterday my sister and daugther ran in their second half marathon. This one was much closer to home held at Thanksgiving Point. It wasnt as much fun as the Vegas one.. however it was nice to be close to home. It was a little chilly at 7:00 a.m. in the morning, but it didnt take long to warm up. The way this race was set up, I was able to follow them from about the half-way point. When Alison ran past she told me she hated running, and when Becky ran past in the picture by the bridge she told me she felt like she was going to vomit. All I can say is, I was happy to be in the car and not running with them! I would run a 5k, but I have no interest in running a half marathon. After the race was over, we bumped into my cousin Kevin and his daughter Olivia, who also ran in the race. Actually, Kevin ran right past my sister and didnt know it until she called out to him! That was kind of a fun surprise for them! Im proud of both of those girls. My sister got third in her age group (got a trophy), and we think Alison was fifth in hers. Today, they are sore and blistered, yet theyre starting to make plans for another race! Im ok with that, as long as its them and not me!
