Goin fishin!

Thursday evening Bret and I went and watched Bryce fly fish in the Blacksmith Fork Canyon river. He is really good! I posted pictures and a video, but Bret couldnt get the best video to email. He got Bryce catching a big trout on video and its sooo cool! As soon as he hooked the fish it jumped and flipped in the air, its awesome! Bryce unhooked it and let it go before we got a photo...so... if we can figure out how to get that video to email I will put it on here. Bret said its too long or something and its off of his phone so theres a trick to it or something. While we were there we saw a big turtle crawling toward the road. Turtles in the mountains???? Who knew? Weird! Anyway we took some photos and then put it by the river and it scurried right in and was swept away. It was so beautiful up there and I loved seeing my boy doing something he loves so much, and doing it so well. He was telling us about the flies he uses and about the bugs the fish like and showed us one particular kind that hatches from a shell in the soil and flies away. It was interesting. The next time I go with him Im going to take real a camera and get alot more pictures! Im really proud of Bryce and Im so impressed with his talent. We had to laugh at the set up on his motorcycle....he called his "redneck setup"! It was fun and I look forward to "goin fishing" with him again soon!

  1. Auntie, what a fun post. I love the music. I love that Bryce does things like fishing and is so handy with home-improvement, and I am sure many other things too. In a couple pix he so much looks like his dad, but he also has a Page look. Handsome man. I can't imagine my husband or brothers going fly fishing, but they would probably like it if they did! I hope you doing well and having a great weekend.

Who won the chub club contest?

  2. I laugh every time I see that posing picture of Bret, mostly because of you saying he was waiting his turn and "gross!" How about snickning.
