50Th!

Wednesday was Brets 50Th birthday! I can't believe it! Ew....I'm married to a 50 year old man! Ha ha ha....oh my! It's so amazing how fast time goes. We have known each other since I was eight years old and he was ten. I remember going to my brothers baseball games and thinking how cute the Rigby twins were. As I got older, like ten, :) we were in the same stake and every year they held a huge barbecue at the fairgrounds under the pavilion. I loved to go just to look at the twins! Then, I went to Brets cousins birthday party and he and Bart were there, and I developed a full blown crush on him (not Bart)! He had one on me too,(according to his cousin,)but then school started and that was the end of that! Then, as a sophomore, he asked me to the Homecoming dance, and the rest is history! Bret is a fabulous husband, father and friend. He is honest, dependable , generous, kind, full of integrity, a hard worker and of course very handsome! Im crazy about him! The kids and I are so lucky to have him! We went to Mandarin to dinner for his birthday and then had his favorite strawberry shortcake for dessert. I wanted to take him on a short trip somewhere but he wants to wait and combine it with a last trip before Nick leaves. April is a crazy month for us with birthdays- Bret the 8th , Nick the 11th, Benny the 13th, and Easter all right together. It gets expensive! Tomorrow we will dye a ton of eggs for our annual egg roll down the Aggie hill on Easter with the Oldhams. It's so dumb, but we always have a blast! Even Kramer and Brie, who both laughed and thought we were weirdos when we took them with us their first time love it, and are looking forward to it this year! Family traditions are important to me. I hope my kids will keep them going. Well, it's Friday night and I have a hot date, so I gotta get ready. Off to Pei Wei and Costco! YESSSS!!! Lettuce wraps and shopping! Lol! That's what we do!

  1. Hi Annette, what time are you doing the egg roll? I've heard about it so much and I am here at Ben's. Should go back home for a funeral at 11, an important one of a man I really admire, but I want to visit with grandpa today and do a hunt here for the kids. I guess we will just go right across the street to the Hyde Park one this morning- if they can wake up. They sure like staying up late with uncle Ben and Shelly.

Wow- Happy Birthday Bret! I love your commentary on how you met him and first had a crush on him.

Happy Birthday Nick and Bennett also. Seems like everyone has a certain time of year that's crazy busy with holidays and birthdays. I always wanted a spring baby...April is great! IF it feels like spring.
