Skeleton Face

About a month ago my son Bryce sent me a picture of this cool tree that I have passed a million times and never noticed. One day a few weeks ago it was foggy and as I was driving along I passed the tree and decided to take some pictures of my own. I thought the fog would add a little creepiness to the skeleton face. Kinda cool aye?

The Motorcycle

In the spring of 1976, both Bret and his twin brother Bart got twin motorcycles, except Barts was blue. Bart sold his years ago, but Bret has kept his, partly with my insistence. We dated on that motorcycle and there are too many memories attached! We spent hundreds of hours on that thing! Bret lived next to Logan High School and I lived about three blocks away, and at night I could hear him coming to pick me up. He would take a shortcut down through the school by the track and onto a path through the first block and on to the main road to my house. Once while on a ride in logan canyon we were going through a pass with solid rocks on both sides when an ambulance came flying around the corner and pushed us off the road, but thanks to Brets skill and quick thinking he stayed calm and instead of trying to over-correct or stay on the road he just went smoothly off the road into the little stretch of gravel that was there. When we came to a stop we were both scared half to death and shaking! We had to sit there for a while to collect ourselves before we could continue. We break it out a few times each summer and go for a few short rides. As you can see its still in excellent shape. When I was 16 years old I thought my boyfriend was so hott on his bike, and now ....... quite a few years older ...I still think my boyfriend is hott on his bike!

Lucky me...Ive got a bug!

So, four days ago I made the mistake of saying, "gosh, Ive been lucky so far this winter, Ive not even had so much as a cold!" I should have knocked on wood or better yet, not jinxed myself by saying anything at all! Ive been sick now three days and counting.....yippeee!! How cool would it be if we could say, "gosh, Ive not won the lottery even one time this year" ... and the next day!..... :)

Flying is for the birds!

Anyone that knows me very well, knows that Im scared to death of flying. Being in an airport can make my heart race even if Im not flying anywhere! Ive had re-occurring nightmares of watching airplanes crash since I was really young. The funny thing is, Im never on them, so I dont know why Im so freaked out about flying! Anyway, for the last two months Ive been pricing flights to Las Vegas, as Im going there in March with my sisters and daughter. Some of them are competing in a half marathon, and Im going to be there with my camera in hand to photograph the event! Ive been doing my homework to see "when the best time to purchase a plane ticket" is, and Ive decided the stuff I found out was all a bunch of phooey! Just by monitoring Southwest myself, every single day, same days and same hours for two months now, I have learned that Monday is the best day to buy a plane ticket. Everything I read said buy weeks in advance and on Wednesdays, so I believed them and bought my tickets two weeks ago on a Wednesday! Unfortunately for me they were/are wrong! I can get a better price today, the same one I could have gotten five weeks ago on a Monday, which was the best price yet. I thought at the time I needed to hurry and buy them because each day the price kept going up. I wish I had hung on a little longer for today! Dumb Dumb dumb! So, flyers, my advice to you is buy your tickets weeks in advance on Mondays!

Bear Lake in the winter

Last Weekend we went to Bear Lake for the cisco run. It was snowing in the canyon on the way over and back. On the way over we were caught in some white-outs and had to stop a few times. White-outs are always scarey, especially when youre in a white car! Coming down the steep winding road on the entrance to Bear Lake was really, really, slick! We slid around a little and I had white knuckles a few times! But even as scarey as it was at times..it was so beautiful! All the fluffy snow on the trees and on the rocks in the river....ahhh...just beautiful! It was quiet at the condo. There wasnt anyone there but us. Bryce went fishing, Bret and Amber napped, and I took photos. We went to dinner at Cafe Sabor Bear Lake and then watched a movie afterwards. We had a great time! We've never been over there in the winter, so it was fun to see what it looks like. It really is beautiful year round!
